Dr. Parrott completed both his ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal fellowship at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami. He was selected to serve as Chief Resident, and served a one-year appointment as an instructor and Director of Ocular Trauma at Bascom Palmer. He now returns to his home state to join Tennessee Retina in August 2010.
Dr. Parrott has authored peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and abstracts in the areas of ocular trauma, ocular infection, ocular pathology, gene therapy, and retinopathy of prematurity. He has presented his research at national and international academic conferences and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
Dr. Parrott’s clinical interests include diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal detachment, and ocular trauma. He will see patients in our new full-service office in Murfreesboro, in our Nashville main office and in selected satellite locations.
Brandon and his wife Leanne, who is also a physician, have one son, Nathaniel. In their spare time they enjoy exploring Tennessee's wonderful State Parks and are avid cinema buffs.
