Dr. Sruthi R. Arepalli brings her dual training in Uveitis and Ocular Inflammatory Diseases as well as Medical and Surgical Retina to Tennessee Retina. Upon early admittance for academic excellence through a combined undergraduate and medical degree, Dr. Arepalli completed medical school at George Washington University. Following her ophthalmology residency at the Cole Eye Institute at Cleveland Clinic, she completed her first fellowship in Uveitis and Clinical Ocular Immunology at the Casey Eye Institute at Oregon Health Sciences University. Dr. Arepalli went on to complete a two year fellowship in Medical and Surgical Retina at the Cole Eye Institute, where she was named a Heed Fellow, one of the most prestigious research honors given to ophthalmology trainees. Dr. Arepalli was also awarded the Cole Eye Institute Fellow of the Year for Excellence in Teaching Award during her second year. 

As an active researcher, Dr. Arepalli has written over 60 scientific papers and book chapters pertaining to retina and uveitis. She has presented at numerous retinal and uveitis meetings and has received various awards to present research, including travel grants from the American Uveitis Society and a Best Poster Award at the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Her research interests include clinical trials and higher order imaging analysis of retinal and uveitic diseases. 
Dr. Arepalli cares for both pediatric and adult patients with uveitis, scleritis and orbital inflammation, specializing in the use of local and systemic steroids, surgical steroid implants, and the administration and monitoring of systemic immunosuppression. Dr. Arepalli also specializes in medical and surgical retina, including complex pathology and surgical management. 
In her free time, Dr. Arepalli enjoys spending time with her husband, an emergency medicine physician, as well as traveling, exploring new cuisines, and spending time with her miniature golden doodle. 

Starting October 2021, Dr. Arepalli will see patients in our Nashville, Clarksville, Hendersonville, and Murfreesboro locations.
