Welcoming Dr. Mitchell T. Allphin: Tennessee Retina’s First Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellow
We are proud to welcome Mitchell T. Allphin, M.D. as our first Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellow as part of our newly launched, AUPO Fellowship Compliance Committee (FCC)-compliant program.
This two-year fellowship is designed to provide comprehensive training in both the medical and surgical management of vitreoretinal diseases. Through this program, Tennessee Retina will sponsor one fellow each year, offering immersive experience in patient care, surgical procedures, subspecialty exposure, research opportunities, and career mentorship.
Dr. Allphin will train under the guidance of our experienced team of retina specialists and contribute to patient care at our Nashville location. He brings a strong commitment to excellence and shares our mission to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to every patient.
The mission of our fellowship is to foster the development of skilled vitreoretinal surgeons and tailor their experience to support their individual career goals.
We are excited to see the positive impact this fellowship—and Dr. Allphin’s work—will have on our patients and the future of retina care. Please join us in giving Dr. Allphin a warm welcome as he begins this important chapter at Tennessee Retina!
