May 2026 Image of the Month

Our featured Fluorescein Angiogram image in May was captured by Liz Tullock on our CLARUS camera!
This is a photo of Stable Choroidal Neovascularization (CNV) from a Choroidal Rupture. A Choroidal Rupture occurs when there is a break in the layers underneath the retina. Typically, choroidal ruptures can occur because of blunt eye trauma. Thankfully in this image the CNV presents as stable, meaning that the abnormal vessels are not appearing to show signs of active leakage, bleeding or growth. Choroidal Neovascularization from a Choroidal Rupture can be known to reactivate. It is important with CNV to monitor your vision closely with regular examinations with your retina specialist.
