October Image of the Month

Our 3 featured images in October were captured by Rebekah Greenberg and Steve Graves!
Image #1 is a photo of a Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion. This image was captured on our Clarus 700 camera by Rebekah Greenberg. A branch retinal vein occlusion occurs when there is a blockage in the vein that carries blood away from the retina. The lack of oxygen delivered to the retina may result in severe loss of vision. Retina artery occlusion is usually associated with sudden painless loss of vision. READ MORE

Image #2 is an image of a Retinal Macroaneurysm captured by Steve Graves. He captured this image using our Clarus and OCT machines. Macroaneurysm occurs when the dilation of a retinal artery leads to hemorrhage or swelling and may cause loss of vision. A patient with high blood pressure can be at a higher risk of having a retinal macroaneurysm.

Image #3 is a photo of Emulsified Silicone Oil that was taken on our Slit Lamp camera by Rebekah Greenberg. Silicone Oil is sometimes used to treat retinal conditions such as complex retinal detachments. On occasion, the silicone oil can emulsify due to various conditions or longevity in the eye.
