Tennessee Retina Physicians and Fellow Present at the 2026 ASRS Annual Meeting
Tennessee Retina was proud to have our physicians and vitreoretinal surgery fellow contribute to the scientific program at the 2026 American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS) Annual Meeting in Montréal, Canada.
The annual meeting brings together retina specialists from around the world to share the latest clinical research, surgical techniques, and innovations in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal disease. This year, Tennessee Retina was represented by five presenters whose work spanned a wide range of topics, including age-related macular degeneration, ocular oncology, retinal detachment, uveitis, and vitreoretinal surgery.

- Moderated the Surgical Case Conference
- Presented late-breaking results from the PRISM Phase 2b clinical trial evaluating investigational 4D-150 gene therapy for neovascular age-related macular degeneration
- Received the 2026 ASRS Founders Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to vitreoretinal surgery, research, innovation, and patient care
- Presented 24-week results from the Phase 3b ELARA trial evaluating aflibercept 8 mg in previously treated patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema
David A. Reichstein, MD, FASRS
- Presented research during the Ocular Oncology Symposium on the limits of mutation profiling as a predictor of gene expression profile (GEP)/PRAME risk in uveal melanoma
- Presented research examining retinal detachment following prophylactic retinopexy in children with Stickler syndrome and its implications for treatment and management
Mitchell T. Allphin, MD
- Our second-year Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellow presented research evaluating the safety of anti-VEGF injections in patients with uveitis, including the incidence of infection after injection and the impact of systemic immunosuppression on these outcomes
